Xbox Live password and hotmail?

Does my Xbox live password and my hotmail password for the account i used to set up my XBL have to be the same? I want the xbox password to be different than my hotmail password.

When you sign up for XBL, you HAVE TO have the same password. This is because you sign into xbox live with you Hotmail Account.

No they wont delete your mail, also this just means you cannot play on live for a few days. So un-hook the Ethernet cord and keep playing =]

Sounds like a scam... junk it.
Reply:Check your Live ID the usual way, do not use a link in the email. If there's anything wrong with your ID, it will tell you.





Most likely the email is a phish, trying to get you to give your Live ID password to their fake Live server (the link in the email).
