Does widows live messanger only accept contacts with a live,hotmail or msn account.....?

i have a contact with a ntl world account and windows live wont reconise it.
Does widows live messanger only accept contacts with a live,hotmail or msn account.....?
Yahoo messenger also works, I've added friends from there onto my msn account. I don't think any other application or account works.

it also accepts yahoo and gmail contacts.. I don't know if it works with ntl

Reply:Yes and no. to use Windows live. You need a windows live account.... most people get this account when they sign up for hotmail or msn. But you can get a windows live account with out hotmail. Just your normal e-mail address.





So to use windows live you need an account on the windows life network. ntl world won't work.





There are some programs that allow you to use one chat program but connect to different networks/accounts. like trillian.
