Recieved an email with a signature saying it is from the Windows Live Hotmail Team, is hotmail closing down?

This Email is from Hotmail Customer Care and we are sending it to every Hotmail Email User Accounts Owner for safety. we are having congestions due to the anonymous registration of Hotmail accounts so we are shutting down some Hotmail accounts and your account was among those to be deleted. We are sending this email to you so that you can verify and let us know if you still want to use this account. If you are still interested please confirm your account by filling the space below.Your User name, password, date of birth and your country information would be needed to verify your account.

Recieved an email with a signature saying it is from the Windows Live Hotmail Team, is hotmail closing down?
No, do not respond to that email with that information.


It is not from Hotmail. It is spam and someone is trying to get your login info.


If you want to be sure, email Hotmail support with a copy of it and ask.
Reply:I would not respond because it is probably a scam. There is no reason for them to need your password and everything to close your account down, they already have it.

Reply:Well, the same thing happened to me 2 weeks ago exactly....received the same email, and from what i gathered, it seemed that my Hotmail account would be removed if I did not verify it...because too many people were creating fake/useless accounts and Hotmail was fillinf up...


Thing is, I had a Yahoo account and a Gmail also, so did not bother to fill up that form with my info and send them..and nothings YET happened to my account...


Asked my brother and he received something similar 2 years ago...he did nothing..and STILL has his old hotmail account...


So, maybe...nothings gonna happen if you ignore the email..?? Thats my assumption...
